Jacket Video Productions goes live for Honors Week

Special to The Daily News

GREENVILLE - "Stand by" ... "Ready to roll" ... "Camera 2 on a wide
shot" ... "Roll" ... "Fade in on graphic" ... "Ready 2, Going to 2" ...
"We are live" ...

These words are called out during all of the Jacket Video Productions (
JVP) events at Greenville High School. For the past 12 years JVP has
been provided the community with coverage of events at the Greenville
High School Auditorium on DVDs.

Starting with Honor's Week, next Monday through Friday, and June 6's
commencement, JVP will broadcast live via the Internet.

According to Richard P. Moll, Career Prep Coordinator, "This opportunity
will show-case student skills and talents to a worldwide audience."

Broadcasting honor's week and commencement live on the Internet also
will provide our service men and women of the 1073rd National Guard the
opportunity to watch first hand, not to mention family and friends from
around the globe.

"In the upcoming school year, the studio II class intends to expand our
Internet broad-casts to include sporting events, concerts and other
select school activities," class video consultant Duane Weed said. "This
venue provides stu-dents an avenue to build their skills and interests
in a techno-logical career." Using the media of today, the JVP students
are working hard to show off what the stu-dents of Greenville Public
Schools are doing. To watch, visit http://www.greenville.k12.mi.us and click on
Jacket TV.

Video Offers Multi-Layer Communication

taken from an article from By Brandon Cox in From The Editor, Fuel Your Blogging

"Within the organization for which I work, we have a policy that nobody ever handles confrontation over email. The biggest reason is that with the written word, you perceive only one layer of communication – words. Face-to-face communication adds at least two more layers – voice (inflection and tone) and body language (gestures).

Video conveys all of these. The viewer doesn’t just get a message, they get that message in the tone in which you intended it. Video establishes a context for our words."

Bring Your website to life?

Add a human touch to your website - the majority of traffic online bounces straight off your homepage - a video grabs and retains attention and immediately delivers compelling sales messages. This is where our Buy-Local Video Profiles come in.

Who is the best at selling your business? You are. Through the Buy-Local Video Profile the prospect gets to know you, your business and what you offer. Just like in ‘Cheers’ – Everyone visiting will know your name.

Support your customer services - people dislike going through endless text FAQs struggling to understand the answers they're getting. 80% of consumers ask the same 20% of the questions, so why not produce a video FAQ. Make it easier on your prospect and KEEP THEM ON YOUR SITE LONGER. Video does this and helps in turning prospects into customers.

Adding short product/demonstration videos within your site will reassure and support who your are and what you do.

Not to mention the use of video testimonials. People want to purchase from a business that they know others are also buying from. Through multiple video testimonials on your website this reassures the prospect of the quality and dependability of your business or organization.

Can Your Business Benefit From Buy-Local - YES, learn how

A customer mentioned to me today that she wasn’t sure if her business could benefit from our Buy-Local Video Profiles. She is a member of a local chamber – one that is a Buy-Local affiliate. Her thought was that since her work is not done in the area why place the video on the chamber website.

In a nutshell here is what I told her – first and foremost the videos we produce need to be on your website –One placed prominently on the home page, then others through out your site. The key is to keep people on your website as long as you can. Video does this.

Second, look at the big picture – place your videos on other video sharing websites like youtube, google video and more. We have just bought into a site that allows us to take one video and place it on a number of video sharing websites. Bottom line, I do not care how they find you, just that they do.

Third, the same video is placed on the local chamber sites that you are a member of. In her case she is well known in the area, people know her and her business. They can direct prospects to the chamber site to view the video(s). Again, the strategy is to place the video in multiple places on the web.

Fourth, the videos should be put on your social networking sites (facebook, myspace etc) – show your friends. Have them show others, this is referred to as video sharing. This is how the game is played.

Fifth, are you a member of other groups or associations? See if you can place the video on their site as well.

Sixth, lets not forget DVD’s. Ideal for trade shows, handing out to prospects, mailers.

Seventh, have an ipod, iphone etc. Place your videos on your hand held devices and you have them ready to go for your next sales presentation.

And eighth, the video can also be used for TV commercials.

Finally, the types of videos you should be producing: Buy-Local Video Profiles (one for each key person within your business or organization – call me on this one, I have ideas for you), New Product Introduction Videos, Training and How To Videos, Testimonials – this one is huge, Promotional Videos, Company Image, President Reviews and the list goes on.

So as you can see, one video, so many uses. Lets not forget that on-line you have a 24/7 sales presence. Contact me today 231 937-5420. Your business needs video on-line.

What’s Your Message?

At DW Video we know the most important question that needs to be asked is; "Who is Your Audience" and "What is the message you are going to present to them"?

The most important step is to determine what you want to tell your audience. Maybe you have a novel product or service that customers may not understand. In this case, an “education sell” might be most appropriate, in which you explain the category as a whole and the benefits it offers. If the product or service is familiar to your prospects — such as buying a house — then you want a “comparative sell” that showcases the advantages that your particular product or service has to offer. Or maybe you want to use a “promotional sell” message that makes a special offer such as a discount or bonus item for people who see the video.

Everyone has a story to tell and our Creative Team is ready to tell it. Contact Duane Today to get your story out to the world.

Promote Your Business With Online Video - A Nerdy Approach

This was taken from an article from By Alfred Poor, PC World. You don't have to be nerdy, but you do need video.... contact me today and lets get started with your video!

If you’re not convinced that video can help your business, consider the viral marketing success of the incredibly nerdy “Will It Blend?” videos created by Tom Dickson, founder of Blendtec. The videos became an overnight sensation on YouTube, and according to some sources, sales increased by 500 percent. Not too shabby for spending a few minutes in front of a video camera and a little editing effort.

Using Buy-Local Video Profiles to Promote Churches

Lets look at how video can be used to promote a church and the word of God. At DW Video & Multimedia we are Christians and proud of it. Most of our videos are of the corporate nature, however I am looking at changing that.

One way that comes to mind is to use our Buy-Local Video Profiles as a way of getting the word out. Most churches today have websites. What draws a person to a church? The people, the message and how your church is perceived in the community.

Here is where the Video Profile comes in. The Video Profile is an interview to get to know the person(s) within an organization or business. We interview key people in the church, the pastor, youth pastor, member etc. Combine the interview with visuals of what happen within the church. Place the videos on your website, facebook, you tube, buy-local video streaming etc. All with keywords that draw the prospect back to you.

By placing on all these sites we are sharing the video with others thus making it a great online church marketing tool:

  • Online video sharing can be a great way to reach people who may not otherwise find your church’s website. By posting videos that link back to your church’s website and have your church’s URL in the video, you are able to direct people back to your site.
  • You can also reach people who would not normally even search for your (or other) churches by posting videos that are not “church-related” videos. This could be a funny (non-churchy) video or an informational video about something not related to church at all. This however needs to direct people to your website.
  • Online videos can also be a means of changing the image non-churchgoers have of what church is.
Give me a call at 231 937-5420 and lets discuss how our Buy-Local Video Profiles can be used to move the word of God. Have a great day and God Bless!

Reasons to use Facebook for your Business

Here is an except from Mari Smith's article Top Ten Reasons Businesses should use Facebook.

1. Meet your peers.

Facebook is not just for college kids anymore. Members are typically older and more mature than on other sites, and there are more affluent and more educated white collar users.

2. Find business contacts.

With more than 100 million active users, and predicted to be 500 million by 2011, not only are your friends on Facebook, so are your prospects, your customers, your JV partners… and, of course, your competitors. You need to be on too.

3. Instant gate opener.

Facebook members are open to connecting. You can easily begin a dialog with highly successful—even famous—people who were previously otherwise unreachable.

4. Build relationships.

By engaging in conversations with your prospects and customers, you can better adapt your marketing and business services to meet their needs.

Turning to my expertise, putting multiple videos on Facebook about you, your business, products and services helps in a non-threating way to inform, educate and turn those prospects into customers. Contact me today about adding video to your website and to the wonderful world of social networking. More of the top ten in another post. God Bless.

Tips on Video Content - part 1

Lets look at some basic video tips when producing your video.

Length of your video - The length depends what you're selling, and who you're selling it to. Keep it Simple and to the point is a general rule when dealing with web video. Thirty to sixty seconds work great for introduction and quick product overviews. Up to 2 minutes works very well for a more in-depth promotional pieces… which gives you more time to tell your story.

Say, for instance, you wanted to produce a streaming video for each of your products. My recommendation is that each video not exceed 30 to 60 seconds. While a company overview or testimonial may be up to 2 minutes in length.

My own video introduction takes about 1 minute, though for other businesses, this may vary. I have found it better to have shorter videos on each web page, then one longer one - Why, because placing a video on multiple pages of your website keeps the prospect on your site longer. Allowing you more time to sell them on what you can do and offer. At DW Video we will work with you to provide the best experience for your customers and prospects.

Next time we will look at the Script.
